A native of Tampa, he began his collegiate career at New York Tech, appearing in 32 games while making 23 starts, working a 4.05 ERA over 169 innings during his three seasons in NY. At the University of Tampa, he appeared in two games, throwing two innings for the South Regional Champion Spartans. During his high school career, he won a state championship for Gaither in 2016.
