Amaral showed very well as a reliever during his first collegiate spring at Stetson, appearing in seven regular-season games for the Hatters. He allowed just five earned runs for a 2.88 ERA and struck out 13 batters across his first 16 innings of work. The 6-foot-1 right-hander punched out four in scoreless long relief appearances against both Florida State and Jacksonville. 

Prior to arriving at Stetson, the native of Debary, Fla., recorded 15 strikeouts in 12.2 innings during his pandemic-shortened senior year at University High School. He was the 275th-ranked player in the nation for the Class of 2020 according to Perfect Game.
