Bobby Kametas begins his third season as a professional in 2021 and second with the ThunderBolts. He originally signed with the Bolts on June 19, 2019, out of Creighton University, and appeared in one game. After parts of two seasons with the Utica Unicorns of the United Shore League, he rejoined the ThunderBolts on March 11, 2021. He pitched in 26 games (eight starts) with Utica between 2019 and '20, compiling a 3-0 record and a 1.60 ERA.

In two years at Creighton, he was dominant out of the bullpen, going 3-0 overall with a 2.87 ERA and 16 saves. He saved nine games and posted a 2.36 ERA as a senior. Kametas started his collegiate career at St. Joseph's College, where, over parts of three seasons, he won five games, saved eight more and compiled a 3.69 ERA in 36 appearances. He attended Oak Lawn Community High School in Oak Lawn, Illinois.
