Schissler played in 19 games in his first season at Nova Southeastern, hitting .295 with four home runs and 13 runs batted in. Nine of his 18 hits went for extra bases, giving him a slugging percentage of .574 in the ultra-competitive Sunshine State Conference. Schissler also stepped on the mound four times this spring for the Sharks, posting a 3.24 earned average. He struck out eight hitters in 8.1 innings of work, and walked just three.
