Edwin Serrano played his first season at VCU in 2020, following two seasons at the junior college ranks with South Florida State College. At SFSC, Serrano appeared in 44 games over two seasons, and was used as a closer. He logged ten total saves, and struck out 75 hitters in 66 innings. As a sophomore, he was a first team All-Region selection. At VCU, he struck out 17 in 18.1 innings, and earned a save in two of his six appearances. Serrano, who is a graduate of Haines City High School, played last summer in the Valley Baseball League, striking out 21 hitters in 16 innings for the New Market Rebels.
