Jon Richard makes his debut with the River Bats this summer, after his brother, Zac, spent two seasons (2008-09) in Central Minnesota. Jon finished second on the Musketeers with a 4.95 ERA in 14 starts as a freshman. He posted a 7-3 record and completed two of his starts. Jon threw 80 innings in his rookie year. Richard was the only Xavier pitcher to complete a game in 2010. He recorded 40 k's in his first college season. Richard surrendered just three home runs in his 80 innings on the hill. In high school, Jon garnered First Team All-Mac honors. Jon was selected First Team All-Miami Valley. Richard led his team to the district championships his freshman year at Versailles. Jon's brother, Zac, also played for Xavier.
