Rizzo followed up a strong freshman season with an even better sophomore campaign. While it only seemed like every game was a multi-hit day, Joe’s average was above .300 almost the entire season. Rizzo had five 3-hit games, including one against regional power Salisbury on April 16 and league rival Penn State Berks on April 28. Had multiple hits in six of seven games from March 27 (at Cairn) to April 6 (SUNY Cobleskill). Knocked in five runs against Gallaudet on March 31 and four on a pair of occasions, including May 9 in the NEAC playoffs against PSU Berks. A resident of Gibbstown, Rizzo is a 2017 graduate of Paulsboro High.
