Isenberg was ranked as one of the top 500 recruits according to Perfect Game baseball rankings coming out of high school where he played shortstop and pitcher. After originally committing to play Division I baseball for the Arkansas Razorbacks, Isenberg decided to play for Eastern Florida State College where he saw no action this past season. The Orange Park native was clocked throwing an 89 MPH fastball by Perfect Game coming out of high school and his brother, Kenneth, will be catching for the River Rats this season.
