Derek Viveiros is in his first season as Bay Sox Head Coach.

He’s currently the Athletic Director at Bristol Community College in Attleboro, Massachusetts, where he is responsible for supervising the school’s varsity teams and collaborating with area high school coaches to recruit prospective players.

Last summer, Derek was the manager of the Torrington Titans of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.  He also coached the Rockville Express of the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League.

Prior to that, Derek served as the hitting and outfielders coach for Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.  During his tenure there, the Tigers were one of the top hitting teams in the Midwest Collegiate Conference, and won two conference championships.  In 2009, IWC led the conference in hits, home runs, runs batted in, and slugging percentage, and ranked second in batting average.

Derek graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2005 with a degree in sport management.  This season, he hopes to keep the players competitive while developing their skills for when they return to school in the fall.
