Badamo is currently in his fifth season of professional baseball and second in the Atlantic League. He began the 2018 season with the Sugar Land Skeeters and New Britain Bees, combining to make nine appearances (eight starts). Last year, the right-hander began the season with the Bridgeport Bluefish, starting 11 games and posting a 4-3 record with a 2.63 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 61.2 innings of work. He then had his contract purchased by the Arizona Diamondbacks and spent the remainder of the season in their organization, reaching as high as the Triple-A level.

The 25-year-old made his professional debut in 2014 after being drafted by the New York Mets in the 24th round of the 2014 MLB draft. He played three seasons with the Mets organization, advancing as high as Triple-A, and compiled a 9-10 record with a 3.22 ERA and 141 strikeouts over 37 appearances (31 starts). Prior to his pro career, the Long Island native played his high school baseball at Mount Sinai High School and his collegiate ball at Dowling College. While at Dowling in Oakdale, N.Y., he went 16-7 with a 1.60 ERA and 224 strikeouts over two seasons, breaking the school's single-season strikeouts record in 2014 with 129.
