Former SteepleCats’ second baseman Cameron McMullen will sit on the opposite side of the chalk in his first season on the North Adams’ coaching staff. McMullen will work alongside Clayton Kuklick, becoming the third player to return to SteepleCats as a coach. 

Cameron wore the black and yellow during the 2009 season while he was attending and playing baseball at the University of Massachusetts. In 28 games (26 starts), he finished second on the team with a .319 batting average to complement 19 runs batted in. McMullen will always be remembered as a slick middle infielder, finishing his lone season with an extremely impressive .972 fielding percentage.

Prior to enrolling at UMASS in the spring of 2009, McMullen played junior college ball at Golden West College in his hometown of Huntington Beach, California. He hit .338, had an on-base percentage of .429, and drove in 20 runs for the Rustlers. In 2008, he played summer ball in Canada for the Regina Red Sox in Saskatchewan. In 34 of the team’s 36 regular season games he batted .276 with 13 RBIs and five stolen bases.
