A native of Medford, NJ, Vasturia is coming off his first season seeing action for the Terrapins after redshirting his true freshman season in 2017, while he recovered from shoulder surgery he had before his senior year in high school.  Through his first 15 appearances of his collegiate career, and the first action he has seen in two years, Vasturia made two starts and has threw 19.2 innings, striking out six and surrendering 13 walks.  Before having to sit out his senior season in high school, Vasturia had a stand-out junior year at St. Augustine Prep where he went 6-3 with a 1.18 ERA, 50 strikeouts and only allowed 10 walks.  This garnered the young man all sorts of attention as despite losing his senior season, the 6-5 righty was still ranked the eighth best pitcher and 18th overall player in the State of New Jersey for the Class of 2016.  The tall, athletic build runs in the family as his brother, Steve, is a starter for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball team.
