Aluko joins the Wingnuts having last played professionally for the Minnesota Twins Gulf Coast League affiliate during the 2016 season. In five games, the 24-year old recorded two hits, including a home run, while playing right field for the GCL Twins. The 24-year old began his collegiate career at Columbia State Community College, where he helped the Chargers to the 2014 NJCAA World Series as a freshman. Aluko hit .287 with five home runs and 26 RBI, adding eight stolen bases. The following season the lefty posted a .258 average with three more long balls and 14 RBI. For his junior campaign, the Acworth, Georgia native returned to the Peach State at Division II Valdosta State. Aluko played in 17 games for the Blazers, hitting .235 with a pair of homers.

Aluko spent the summer following his junior season playing for the Fairbanks Goldpanners in the Alaska Baseball League, hitting .412 with a home run at the 2016 NBC World Series in Wichita. His performance caught the eye of the Twins, who signed him as a minor league free agent. After being released by Minnesota, Aluko played for the Everett Merchants in the 2017 NBC World Series, posting a solid .348 average and helping the Merchants to the championship game.
