Thompson returns to the Waterloo Bucks for his second season in 2017 as the team’s pitching coach. Thompson is currently the pitching coach at Coastal Alabama Community College in Bay Minette, Ala.

From 2015-16, Thompson served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Point University.
