The southpaw Carmichael joins the Bucks from Illinois-Springfield, his third school in as many years. As a member of the Prairie Stars in 2017 he appeared in 11 games on the mound, totaled 10 innings pitched with a 7.20 ERA. Eight of those appearances he didn’t allow an earned run. Carmichael started his collegiate career in 2015 at Northern Illinois, appearing in eight games (two starts) totaling 14.1 innings allowing 22 hits and 16 runs while striking out seven batters. In 2016 as a sophomore at Iowa Central Community College he made 12 appearances going 1-1 in 17.2 innings with an 8.15 ERA and 28 strikeouts.
