The Long Island Sound welcomes Brendan Barry to the coaching staff for the 2017 LICBL season. Coach Barry’s main responsibilities will be as first base coach and as assistant infield instructor, working together with Coach Towers. Playing shortstop during the Sound's early years, Barry was a main contributor to three NABF World Series appearances and the leader of the team defense. Attending St. Mary’s HS, he was the starting varsity shortstop three years. Barry then went onto play at Division III Alvernia College, where he hit .441 as a freshman. He then transferred to Division II Post University for his junior and senior years, graduating in 2011. During his junior campaign at Post, Barry finished tied for the record for most hits in a single season (63). Barry also played one season of professional baaeball in Sweden, leading his team to the Elitserrian championship. |
