A former Division II infielder at Molloy College, John Towers works as the infield instructor for the Long Island Sound Baseball Academy and is the third base coach for the Sound's LICBL team. Towers brings 10+ years of coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate level to the Sound program.

Formally an assistant coach at SUNY Maritime College (2013) and at St. John the Baptist HS in West Islip, NY (2007-2012, 2014-2016), Coach Towers is now an assistant varsity coach at MacArthur HS in Levittown, NY. During his tenure at St. John the Baptist, Towers has led the Cougars to three NSCHSAA JV Championships (2008, 2010, and 2014).

Towers has also served as head coach of a few collegiate summer baseball teams, most recently for the Nassau Sand Sharks of the NACBL (2015).

In addition to his time at both the high school and collegiate levels, Towers has also been a part of the Long Island Sound Baseball organization since the beginning years of the program, guiding teams to the NABF World Series in 2008 and 2011 and winning the NABF Northeast Regional in both those years.
