Bob Stanga is the founder and President of the Long Island Sound Baseball Academy. A former Division I ballplayer at LIU-Brooklyn, he has over 20 years experience coaching and mentoring high school and college players. Since starting the Sound, he has served as the organizational hitting and catching instructor. Stanga has guided three teams to NABF Northeast Regional championships in 2008, 2011 and 2012, while also qualifying for the World Series each time. From 2007 to 2012, Stanga served as an assistant coach at Saint John the Baptist HS in West Islip, winning championships in 2008 and 2010. Stanga also spent time as an assistant coach at SUNY Maritime in 2013 and the Long Island Sand Sharks of the NACBL in 2015. |
