Daniel was an integral part of Drury’s run to the NCAA Tournament, the fifth in school history. The catcher played in all but four games, hitting .346 during the regular season. Among every day players, his .438 on base percentage was the best on the roster, thanks to his 28 walks. Daniel’s most recent summer experience came in the Lone Star State with the Woodlands Strykers of the Texas Collegiate League. He was ranked as one of the top 20 catchers in the baseball-rich state of Florida out of high school.
