Miguel Alfonzo hit two home runs to carry the McAllen Thunder (18-35) to a 12-6 win over the Abilene Prairie Dogs (21-30) at Walt Driggers Field.

The McAllen Thunder left no doubt in the outcome with five runs in the ninth.

Chris Caves reached base four times in the game for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Frank James got his fourth win for the McAllen Thunder despite allowing five runs over seven innings. He struck out one, walked four and surrendered 12 hits.

Woods Fines (3-6) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked three and struck out one.

Yasser Gomez, Nick Mahin and Alfonzo helped lead the McAllen Thunder. They combined for seven hits and seven RBIs.
