The Winnipeg Goldeyes (26-18) failed to take advantage of Gabriel Martinez's effort at the plate on Sunday, losing 8-5 to the Wichita Wingnuts (31-13) at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.
Martinez blasted two home runs for the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Martinez went 2-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Martinez homered in the first and eighth innings.
David Peralta racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Wichita Wingnuts. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Josh Lowey improved to 8-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Wichita Wingnuts. He allowed four runs over seven innings. Lowey struck out six, walked three and gave up six hits.
Todd Privett was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out three.
