A superb effort by Mac McCarty spurred the Pierce (14-8) to a 7-0 win over the Green River (2-16) on Sunday at Heritage Park.
McCarty brought the heat against the Green River during his outing. The Green River managed just one hit off of the the Pierce's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his seven innings of work.
The Pierce blew out the Green River thanks to 10 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Pierce scored three runs in the sixth on the Pierce scored in the sixth on an RBI double by Hudson Byorick, an error, and a sacrifice fly by Andrew Barrera.
Barrera racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Pierce.
Taylor Scarvie (0-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
