Garrett Belanger went 3-3 at the plate, sparking the Douglas (8-15) to a 5-2 victory in seven innings over the Everett (18-14) on Sunday at Everett Memorial Stadium .
He doubled in the third inning and singled in the second and sixth innings.Jamie Whitehead picked up the win for the Douglas. Whitehead allowed one earned run, five hits and two walks while striking out none over seven innings of work.
The Douglas had no answer for Taylor Shea, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Douglas managed just two hits off of the the Everett's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his four innings of work.
Curtis Bafus (3-3) took the loss for the Everett. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
