The Windy City ThunderBolts come from behind to beat the Southern Illinois Miners, 11-9

Down three runs in the seventh, the Windy City ThunderBolts (1-3) recovered thanks to Zach Aakhus's single in the ninth, and pulled out a 11-9 win over the Southern Illinois Miners (2-1) on Sunday at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

With the score tied at nine, Aakhus came to the plate and singled, scoring Nathan Tomaszewski and Miles Walding.

Aakhus led the Windy City ThunderBolts' offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He singled in the sixth and ninth innings.

Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 20 runs and 24 hits, including zero extra base hits. Both bullpens were busy with 10 pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.

Mike Torres racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He singled in the third and sixth innings and tripled in the eighth inning.

Michael Click improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Drew Bailey ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked four, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
