The Bourne Braves (9-5) shut the door early on the Wareham Gatemen (7-7), capturing a 9-1 victory on Saturday at Doran Park.

An RBI double by Stefan Romero, an RBI single by Kyle Roller, and an RBI double by Nick Schwaner in the first inning and and a sacrifice fly by Rob Segedin during the second inning helped the Bourne Braves put some runs on the board early.Romero boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace the Bourne Braves.
Robert Morey racked up seven strikeouts in the the Bourne Braves win. Morey allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks over five innings.
A bright spot for the Wareham Gatemen in the defeat was Keith Bilodeau, who allowed only two runs while striking out five.
Bruce Kern ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
