Grubb, who joined the University of Portland after spending two years at Lower Columbia College in Kelso, Wash., played 17 games with Bellingham in 2010. With the Bells, Grubb hit for a .288 average with six doubles and 11 RBI.

At Lower Columbia, Grubb was named to the All-NWAACC team at the catcher position after a 2010 season in which he collected a .342 batting average. During the post-season, Grubb led the way for Lower Columbia with a .444 batting average in five playoff games while driving in seven runs.
