Miller began this season in the Seattle Mariners organization at Double-A Jackson in the Southern League, where he notched two saves during 26 relief appearances to begin this year.  He made his Triple-A debut with Tacoma last season, appearing in two games.  While a reliever as of late, 70 of his 125 career appearances upon joining York have been starts.

Drafted by the Mariners in 2011, Miller made a career-high 26 starts between A-Advanced High Desert and Double-A Jackson in 2013, and 13 of his 31 appearances a season ago for Jackson were also starts.  Last season he posted a 3.81 ERA in Double-A, notching a solid 87 strikeouts in 111 innings pitched.  Miller's best season as a professional came in 2012, when he posted a 3.24 ERA in 27 appearances and 22 starts between Clinton and High Desert in 150.1 innings.  He struck out 113 in that time, walking just 24.

Miller is in this fifth professional season despite being just 24, after spending two years at San Joaquin Delta College in California before joining the Seattle organization.
