Jeremy comes to Bridgeport for his first season with the Bluefish, joining his second Atlantic League team this year during his 11th season of professional baseball. The right-hander began the 2014 campaign with the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League appearing in 37 games compiling a 4.89 ERA with 29 strikeouts and only 10 walks in 38.2 innings pitched. He spent his entire 2013 season with the Nationals Triple-A affiliate in Syracuse going 2-1 in 17 games with 18 strikeouts in 22.2 innings pitched.

Accardo has spent eight seasons in the Major Leagues, last appearing with the Cleveland Indians and Oakland A’s in 2012 where he pitched in a combined 27 games posting a 4.82 ERA with 29 strikeouts in 37.1 innings pitched. The Arizona native’s best big league season came in 2007 when he spent the entire year with the Toronto Blue Jays going 4-4 with a 2.14 ERA recording 30 saves in 64 games with 57 strikeouts in 67.1 innings pitched. The reliever has also played for the San Francisco Giants and the Baltimore Orioles. During his Major League career, Accardo has appeared in 262 games, recording 38 saves finishing 115 of them, posting 10 wins, while recording a 4.30 ERA with 205 strikeouts in 284.2 innings pitched.

Jeremy was originally signed as an amateur free agent in 2003 by the Giants after spending his college career at Illinois State University. He has appeared in 277 minor league games (two starts) and holds a 19-17 record with a 3.43 ERA, finishing 180 of the games he has appeared in, recording 81 saves and 258 strikeouts over the course of 317.2 innings pitched.
