Uriegas won the American Association Championship last season the Gary SouthShore RailCats out of Gary, Indaina.  Uriegas attended Westwood High School in Austin, Texas.  After high school he went to Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

In his senior year with the Aggies Uriegas three in 39 games out of the pen, posting a 4-0 record and a 1.69 ERA, striking out 17, in 21.1innings. He played for the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League for two summers…pitched in the Alaskan College Summer League in 2009 for the Mat-Su Miners, who won the league championship…first-team Academic All-Big 12 in 2010 as a sophomore. 

He was traded to the RailCats along with RHP Marshall Schuler on July 8, 2012 from Normal in the Frontier League in exchange for INF K.C. Judge and OF Ernie Banks Jr.
