Kevin is a sophomore at the University of Portland and hit .207 (17-82) in 34 games, with two homers and 15 RBIs in 2014. He hit .188 (3-16), with no homers and an RBI, in 11 games for the Pilots in 2013 as a true freshman. 

A two-year letterwinner at California High School, Kevin led team in home runs as a senior, helping the Grizzlies reach the CIF section championships at Oakland Coliseum. He also earned two letters in football and was the quarterback for the East Bay All-State Team, helping the squad to a victory in the Holiday Classic All-Star Game.

His grandfather Leon played both soccer and rugby at UCLA and is a member of the UCLA Hall of Fame. His grandfather Norman played baseball at Arkansas State and briefly played minor league ball in the Washington Senators organization. His uncle Pat played football at UCSB.
