Alejandre graduated from King High School in 2013 and has an 86-mile-per-hour fastball. Was 6-3 his senior year with 85 strikeouts in 62 innings, earning 5A All-District honors. Signed with University of the Incarnate Word and San Jacinto Junior College following graduation, but ruled ineligible due to signing with an advisor.
