Kevin was named to the South squad for the West Coast League All-Star Game, but did not play because the game was rained out. He was named the WCL Player of the Week for June 9-15. He hit four homers, including two grand slams, and drove in 11 runs in six games.

A senior-to-be at Dixie State University, Kevin was a PacWest Conference first-team all-star at designated hitter and was a second-team all-West Region all-star by Daktronics and the NCBWA. He hit .319 in 53 games, with 20 doubles, seven homers and 54 RBIs.

He earned other honors as well. He was the PacWest Player of the Week for March 3-9 for his outstanding performance in a four-game series against St. Martin's. He was a pre-season PacWest Conference all-star and was named to the 125-man Tono Martinez Award watch list. The Tono Martinez Award is given to the top player in NCAA Division II.

Kevin was honorable mention all-WCL in 2013 after hitting .305, with four homers and 37 RBIs, in 53 games for the Knights.

As a sophomore at Dixie State in 2012-13, Kevin hit .349 (53-152), with six homers and 40 RBIs. He was a second-team PacWest Conference all-star, a Daktronics Division II West Region second-team all-star, and an honorable mention NCBWA West Region all-star.

A two-way player at Southern Utah University as a freshman in 2012, he hit .280 (30-107), with three homers and 15 RBIs in 33 games. In six appearances as a pitcher, he was 0-1 with a 5.68 ERA and four strikeouts in 6.1 innings.

Kevin was a four-year letterman at Rancho High in Las Vegas and hit .541 as a senior, with 11 homers, 20 doubles and 74 RBIs in 39 games. He was all-region, all-state and earned Louisville Slugger High School All-American honors. He ranked fifth in Nevada state history with 197 career hits and 184 career RBIs upon graduation.

As a pitcher, he was 5-1, 2.62 in 12 games as a senior, with 40 strikeouts in 37.1 innings.
