Fresh off a historic season at Cal State Los Angeles that saw the program lay claim to its first conference title and a berth in the Division II NCAA Tournament West Regional, junior catcher Cody Doyle will bring depth at catcher and first base this summer.
A Covina, Calif., native, Doyle enjoyed a breakout campaign at Cal State LA this spring after transferring from junior college. The left-handed hitter led the team with a .352 average and tallied 40 runs, 12 doubles, a triple and five homers, while ranking second with 50 RBI. Doyle slugged .500 and boasted a .476 OBP and earned all-conference and all-regional distinction, as well.
Doyle played high school ball for pitching coach Kevin Smith at South Hills High School. He earned first-team All-CIF honors and was San Antonio League’s Most Valuable Player following his senior season, during which he was named the school’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year. 
The son of Pat and Charm Doyle, Cody is pursing a major in communications.
