Chris King was an essential member to helping Elon University advance into the NCAA Division 1 baseball tournament. This feat was accomplished as they were named the SOCON conference champions. Elon took the championship after winning 5 straight games, including a dramatic 6-5 win in the championship over The Citadel. King had had a hot bat throughout the tournament and will continue to provide the Phoenix, with his powerful swing throughout the NCAA tournament.

Bringing a big bat to the plate for the Waves will be Rhode Island’s own Chris King. This past season at Elon University, King brought a powerful bat to the plate as he often served as the designated hitter. Through 92 at bats King crossed home plate 10 times after 27 hits. King also benefited the team with 3 homeruns, 10 doubles, and 19 RBIs.

He was a standout throughout his time at Portsmouth High School where he earned numerous accolades throughout his career. Perfect Game named him preseason All-Northeast. King was a two-time First Team All-State selection. He was also a three-time All Newport County honoree and was a twice named D1-East Player of the Year. King was also Newport County Player of the Year as a junior.
