Jermy Acey begins his first season in El Paso in 2012.  The 6’0, 215 lbs, infielder from Houston, Texas was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 23rd round of the 2003 draft out of Skyline Junior College (CA).  Acey began his career with the Rookie level Pulaski Blue Jays of the Appalachian League in 2003 and moved up to the Low A Auburn Doubledays of the New York-Pennsylvania League and the A Level Charleston AlleyCats of the South Atlantic League in 2004.  He returned to the Doubledays in 2005 before moving on to independent baseball with the Edinburg Coyotes and the Rio Grande Valley White Wings of the United League in 2006.  He split time with the White Wings and the Nashua Pride of the Canadian-American Association in 2008 before spending time with the Petroleros de Minatitlan of the Mexican League, the South Maryland Blue Crabs and the York Revolution, both of the Atlantic League, in 2009.  In 2010, Acey competed for the St. George Roadrunners and the Maui Na Koa Ikaika of the Golden Baseball League and the Olmecas de Tabasco of the Mexican League before taking a break from baseball.  He makes his return this season with the Diablos.  In nine seasons of professional baseball, Acey has compiled a career batting line of .311/.401/.472 in 651 games, with 440 runs scored, collected 738 hits including 138 doubles, 12 triples, 73 home runs, and 404 RBIs.  Acey has a career fielding percentage of .942 being used in both the infield and outfield.
