On April 30, 2012, Case Munson became the second Missouri Tiger, along with infielder Landon Lucansky, to sign with the CrackerJacks for the 2012 season. Munson is the second St. Charles, Mo., native to sign with the Will County club in as many years (Lendon Ehlmann, 2011).
In his first season as a member of the Missouri Tigers, Munson appeared in 12 games and made four starts. He finished the season 4-for-22 and belted a double, scored a run, drew two walks and posted three RBIs.
Munson is a 2011 graduate of Francis Howell High School. At Francis Howell, he completed a strong senior season by hitting 0.447, posting 46 hits, including 12 home runs, and tallying 59 RBIs. Munson was a 2010 and 2011 first team All-State selection and a 2011 first team All-American Rawlings selection. In addition, he led Francis Howell to a 32-3 record and a state championship in 2011. Munson received the Golden Helmet Award after his final season at Francis Howell and maintained a 3.0 grade-point average during his high school tenure.
Munson is a Business major at Missouri and enjoys snowboarding and surfing. He is the son of Kurt and Kristen Munson.
