Chaves spent the 2010 season with the Bridgeport Bluefish, driving in 47 runs on 111 hits in 121 games played. In 2009, he split time at the Double-A and Triple-A Level of the Tampa Bay Rays organization.  While at Triple-A, he had 16 hits and seven RBI in 18 games played.  He had 59 hits, 10 doubles, and 26 RBI in 88 games at the Double-A Level. Chaves has 693 hits, 116 doubles, 30 triples, 20 homeruns, and 314 RBI during his 10-year career. In addition to his time with the Rays, Chaves has experience with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Indians organizations, including five seasons at the Double-A Level.
