Jay pitched well this spring for the Canadian Prairie Baseball Academy, posting the third-best ERA on the team with a 2.67 mark, and finishing tied for third in wins with 4. He also was on the team that won the Canadian College Championships in 2008 with the Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs. This will be his first season with Rochester, but he shouldn’t feel far from home, as one of the Honkers catchers and returning players is his older brother, Aaron. Jay will be one of three Canadians on the Honkers roster this summer, and one of only five left-handed pitchers.
