D’Shawn Knowles returns for his second season with Sioux City after joining the club in August 2024. The native of New Providence, Bahamas, spent six seasons with the Los Angeles Angels organization, reaching AAA in 2024. He also played for Team Great Britain in the 2023 World Baseball Classic. Knowles hit .261 in 23 games for Sioux City, with one home run and 13 RBI. His grand slam on August 19 was a defining moment of the 2024 season, leading to a comeback win against the Kansas City Monarchs.
Knowles patrolled center field and added five stolen bases, seven multi-hit games, six doubles, and 17 runs. Before Sioux City, he played 35 games at Triple-A Salt Lake City, hitting .202 with one home run and 14 RBI. In 2023, he split time between Double-A Rocket City and High-A Tri-City, ending his time at Tri-City on a 10-game hit streak.
In 2022, Knowles played at Inland Empire and Tri-City, batting .262 combined with 22 stolen bases. He led Inland Empire with 31 stolen bases in 2021. Knowles has played 521 games in his career, hitting .253 with 24 home runs, 224 RBI, and 108 stolen bases. He grew up in Nassau, Bahamas, and now lives in Lake Worth, Florida.
