LHP Brendan O’Donnell returns to Sioux City after making his professional debut in 2024 as a late July free-agent signee. He appeared in 10 games, including one start, working 14.1 innings with 14 strikeouts and posting an 8.79 ERA. O’Donnell recorded back-to-back scoreless outings on August 20 and 22 as part of a five-game sweep over the Kansas City Monarchs.


O’Donnell joined the Explorers after spending two seasons at the University of Houston. In 2024, he tied for the team lead in appearances, making 19 starts and striking out 21 batters with a 5.82 ERA. Before Houston, O’Donnell pitched for the Connecticut Huskies, posting a 3.00 ERA in 2022. He earned All-Academic team selections in both his freshman and sophomore years.


Born in Hull, Massachusetts, O’Donnell attended Dexter Southfield High School, where he was ranked the number five left-handed pitcher in Massachusetts. He now resides in Columbus, Texas.
