Rogers began his managerial career with the Houston Astros organization. In 2015, he was named the manager of the Greenville Astros, the team’s rookie league affiliate. He helped guide them to the Appalachian League Championship that season and won the league’s Co-Manager of the Year Award. Rogers got promoted the following season and became the manager of the Tri-City ValleyCats, the team’s short-season affiliate, in 2016.


Prior to joining the Astros organization, Rogers spent 14 seasons in the American Association with the Saint Paul Saints. There, he held various roles including assistant coach, hitting coach, first base coach, and third base coach. In 2004, the Saints won the Northern League Championship as they batted .285 as a team.


As a player, the Colorado Rockies drafted Rogers in the 42nd round of the 1992 Major League Baseball Draft after a three-year collegiate career at Long Beach State University. He played four seasons in the Rockies organization, advancing as high as Double-A, before spending two seasons with the Saint Paul Saints.
