The Monarchs added RHP Dalbert Siri on July 13th. Siri, 25, was a product of the Cleveland Indians’ organization where he pitched for the better part of six seasons. Up until this season, Siri has predominantly been a strikeout pitcher. However, at the same time, the right-hander has struggled with command. 

In 2016, 2017, and 2018, Siri struck out more than 10 hitters per nine. With the Lynchburg Hillcats in 2018, Siri punched out 71 batters in just 47 ⅔ innings. The downside, though, was that he walked 29. Since that full year, Siri hasn’t struck out more than 52 in a season. 

Before he joined Kansas City, Siri was pitching for Triple-A Columbus. Unfortunately, walks weren’t as much of an issue as hits were. He allowed 17 runs on 23 hits in 21 ⅔ innings. Siri was released by the Indians on July 10th. Six months earlier, Siri had a non-roster invite to Cleveland’s spring training. 

The Indians signed Siri as an international free agent back in 2014.
