Rhett Gay will look to be a big part of the Mainers starting rotation following his first season at Georgia Southern.  An imposing figure on the mound in high school, Gay made First Team All-Region as a sophomore, junior, and senior, First Team All-State as a junior and senior, and was named Region Pitcher of the Year in his senior season at Emanuel County Institute. He . started his collegiate career at East Georgia State, where as a freshman, he became a GCAA First Team All-Conference selection, racking up a 2.94 earned run average while going 10-2 with one save and six complete games, striking out 77 batters for the Bobcats. He then transferred to Georgia Southern, where he pitched five games, making three starts in 2019 for the Eagles.
