As a sophomore at division two University of West Alabama in Livingston, Ala…Rogers has been a two-way player so far in his two seasons for the Tigers…On the mound for the Tigers, Rogers appeared nine times starting just twice while throwing 22.2 innings with a 4.37 ERA and 19 strikeouts…Rogers on the offensive side of the ball was second on the team in batting average this season at .317 with 39 hits, eight extra base hits (four doubles, four HRs) and 29 RBIs…In his freshman campaign, Rogers did not appear on the mound but did appear in 40 games for the Tigers offensively, Rogers hit .214 on the season with 27 hits and 18 RBIs…Rogers is from Soddy Daisy, Tenn. where he played baseball and basketball at Soddy Daisy High School…Rogers was named to the 5A All-District, All-Tournament, and 3A All-Region and sub-state teams…Rogers helped lead his team junior year to region and sub-state titles while earning 5A All-District and 3A All-Region honors…In his sophomore season he was named to the 5A All-District and All-Tournament teams…Rogers was also a 5A All-District basketball player in high school.
