Pinder begins his first season with the Ducks and eighth of professional baseball. He comes to Long Island with two seasons of Major League experience, spending time in 2015 and 2016 with the New York Yankees. In 26 appearances, the right-hander compiled a 3.45 ERA, yielding just 11 runs over 28 and two-thirds innings of work while striking out 26 batters. He turned in an impressive 2.93 ERA during the 2015 campaign and did not allow a single run over his first five MLB appearances.

The 29-year-old spent most of the first seven seasons of his professional career in the Yankees organization. He was named a Topps Short-Season/Rookie All-Star as well as a New York-Penn League Mid-Season All-Star in 2011 while with the Staten Island Yankees. In 24 apperances, he compiled a 2-2 record with a 1.16 ERA, 14 saves and 38 strikeouts to just five walks over 31 innings of work. The California native split eight appearances in 2017 between Staten Island and Double-A Trenton before joining the Los Angeles Angels organization and pitching with Triple-A Salt Lake. Overall, he was 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA, one save and 13 strikeouts in 16 outings. He was also invited to spring training earlier this year by the Angels. Pinder was originally drafted by the Yankees in the 16th round of the 2011 amateur draft.
