Appeared in one game as a sophomore at Villanova without surrendering a run or a hit in one inning of work.  Packard did not appear in a game as a freshman in 2010.  He appeared in 11 games last season for Sanford in the FCSL and posted a 1-1 record in 11 2/3 innings of relief for the River Rats.  The Knoxville, Tenn. native received three varsity letters at Knoxville High School, posting a 2.07 ERA in 57 innings pitched as a senior while striking out 50.  Packard was named an all-region player in both his junior and senior years.
