Kevin Sweeney signed with the Grizzlies on June 1, 2015. The right-hander previously had four standout seasons at Drury University in Springfield, MO.

Sweeney was 9-3 in 2014 with a 2.43 ERA, helping the Panthers finish 44-13, their best season in school history. The Leawood, KS native finished his career tied for second in innings pitched and complete games, third in wins (20), and fourth in strikeouts (142).

Sweeney appeared in one game for the Kansas City T-Bones of the American Association in 2014 and began the season with the Gary Southshore RailCats, but did not make an appearance.
