Rodriguez is a native of Newhall, California and a graduate of William Hart High. He was a key piece of the Golden Bears’ from 2010-2014, capping his collegiate career by hitting .284 with a team-high 34 RBI and earning All-Pac 12 Honors during his senior campaign.
The left-handed swinging first baseman was a mid-season All-Star selection in the Frontier League last season, helping the West Division to a 4-2 win at the exhibition classic in Schaumburg, IL. He batted .321 with 119 hits, 22 doubles, 4 home runs and just 48 K in 93 regular season games with Rockford.
Collegiate Career
Devon Rodriguez played for the Golden Bears last year at the University of California. His season season he was first-team All PAC-12, batting .284 54-for-197, .269 vs. Pac-12) with six doubles, seven home runs (3rd in Pac-12) and a team-high 34 RBIs.
He led the team with 16 multiple hit and eight multiple RBI games.
Finished career with a .280 average with 212 hits, 31 doubles, 22 home runs and 130 RBI in 204 games. He was 22-for-59 (.373) with runners in scoring position.
