Draft Status: 2014 – Washington Nationals (39th Round, 1174th Overall)
The Oklahoma native completed his first season with the Cowboys patrolling the outfield for the majority of the 2015 season. Starting in 23 of 29 games he appeared in, Littell batted .226, notching 21 hits and 15 RBI.
“Jon is a big, physical and athletic young man that can run,” said Gulls General Manager Chuck Paiva. “He has a solid approach to hitting with great power potential. I expect him to be one of the top players in our league this summer.”
A four-year letterman at Stillwater High School in Oklahoma, he earned All-America honors from Perfect Game, Oakley and Louisville Slugger and was a member of the Area Code Team. Littell was considered the best prep prospect out of the state of Oklahoma by Baseball America, and was the fourth ranked outfielder nationally in the senior class.
He was a 29th-ranked overall high school prospect, according to Perfect Game. As a senior, he hit cleanup for the Class 6A state champion Pioneers, and had a .446 batting average with five home runs and 39 RBI. Littell was named OCA All-State, 2014 Perfect Game First-Team All-American, 2013 Perfect Game Second Team All-American and 2012 Perfect Game Third-Team All-American. He also played football and basketball at SHS and was an honorable-mention all-district quarterback.
