Hampson joins the Ducks having played 10 seasons of professional baseball. The southpaw spent the 2006 season with the Colorado Rockies before pitching for the San Diego Padres in 2007 and 2008. The Illinois native has a 5-4 record with a 3.38 ERA over 79 games (one start) in the Majors. His best season came in 2007 with the Padres when he compiled a 2.70 ERA in 39 games. Hampson spent the 2009 season with Triple-A Sacramento in the Oakland Athletics organization and was originally drafted by the Rockies in the 28th round of the 1999 amateur draft.
